Welcome to the Greater Boston Bankers Association Website

The Greater Boston Bankers Association or GBBA was founded in 1885 as the Bank Officers Association to "promote better acquaintance and friendly relations" among bankers within 15 miles of Boston. Over the years, the membership requirements have been relaxed to allow employees and retirees from other financial institutions such as mutual funds companies and insurance companies in eastern Massachusetts to join and participate in our events.

The GBBA provides discount tickets to its members for events such as The Boston Pops, theater events, casino trips, ice shows, dinner shows, sporting events, harbor cruises, and more. All members are entitled to a specially priced ticket and may purchase additional tickets at a reduced rate for guests. The goal of these events is to promote and encourage networking opportunities for members in a friendly and relaxed environment.

Annual membership dues are $12 a year (April 1 - March 31), non pro-rated, and open to anyone working in a financial institution for at least one year. Retirees from financial institutions are also welcomed to join. Members are invited free of charge to the organization's Annual Meeting in May, where members can socialize with one another and are treated to an evening of great food, prizes, and entertainment.

Applications from prospective new members are always accepted. Please see the Membership Application page or e-mail our treasurer, William Parvey, at BillParv@aol.com or visit our FAQ page for additional information.
